Recycling & Waste Facilities
You can avoid unnecessary dustbin waste going into expensive landfill sites by recycling your paper, cardboard, glass bottles, cans, etc., at one of the following centres:
Kenley station car park – cans, clothing, paper and shoes with reduced facilities for bottles & jars.
Old Lodge Lane opposite Wattenden School – one small container each for bottles & jars, cans and paper.
There are other recycling centres just outside our area; the most important is that at Tesco’s which has facilities for bottles, cans, clothing, paper, printer cartridges and shoes.
The Purley Oaks civic amenity site in the Brighton Road is open 7 days a week 8.00am to 3:30pm for cars only. The site takes most recyclable items including batteries, bottles, cardboard, clothing, computer equipment, garden waste, hardcore, metal, oil, paper, some plastics, printer cartridges, shoes, tins and reusable wood such as Chritmas trees when in season. There is also one container for non-recyclable home waste.
The council collects household waste weekly. Garden waste is collected bi-weekly in clear plastic bags, maximum two bags per household. Additionally also bi-weekly, cans, glass and plastics are collected in a green crate, and newswspapers and cardboard in a blue crate. Both the clear plastic bags and the crates are provided by the Council free of charge.

Kenley Memorial Hall
The Kenley Memorial Hall is our community hall in the heart of Kenley.
It is available to hire for local community groups and private functions, but already hosts all manner of events and everything from a regular community market on Friday mornings, dance, karate and archery lessons to keep fit and badminton groups and an art group that has been meeting there each week for over 20 years.
It is conveniently situated on the A22 Godstone Road, on the 407 bus route and less than 5 minutes’ walk from Kenley British Rail station.
The Hall has recently been refurbished, with assistance from the local community and grants from the War Memorials Trust and Croydon Council.
It consists of one large and one small hall with gardens and private car parking. There is disabled access and facilities, a fully fitted kitchen, badminton court, piano, and a fully fitted stage with curtains & lighting.
As well as being a valuable asset to the current Kenley community, the Hall is a true memorial to those brave men of Kenley who gave their lives for our freedom during two World Wars.
