Planning issues are probably the most contentious facing KENDRA and its members.
In recent years Croydon Council’s planning strategy has met with a great deal of opposition and dismay. Kenley has borne the brunt of the previous administration’s drive to intensify development in the area.
Changes at the Town Hall now give residents some influence in planning decisions. The elected Mayor has already scrapped SPD2 which was seen as a developers’ charter.
KENDRA’s planning officer, Geoff James, keeps residents informed about planning applications, their progress and their implications in his weekly planning newsletter and the extensive Planning Table.
